Getting closer, pushed a second final cut out.

Bought an Apple TV, been playing around with it. I wish getting content into the h.264 variant it likes was a bit easier, but once there it’s a pretty slick piece of kit.

Native Gimp.app looks quite nice freed from X11. In a similar vein, I’ve been using Mac OpenOffice builds for the past few months without many issues.

There was another one a few days ago, but it was too tall to be useable. 500GB in a laptop is pretty impressive, though.

Well, anything that can go wrong, will.  My brand shiny new 1TB hard drive I’d consolidated the project onto died.

Lost a day of work and some old video files I copied off while upgrading my laptop to leopard.  Yay for making backups.

Well, the moment of truth: the first two days of shooting. Got 15 out of 19 pages shot, good deal. The hvx eats more light than I thought, gonna have to rethink how to do some night lighting.

Another year. A bunch of cool stuff on the technology front:

1TB hard drives. Format a little shy, but whatever.

ZFS is coming in leopard, which has inspired me to abandon all my current storage plans and wait.

My brother got an intel machine w/ parallels, and I must say that coherence is damn sexy.

Maybe we’ll finally see Final Touch as part of Final Cut and the long rumored Phenomena at NAB.
