Been doing a little coding lately. Finally updated my RSS feed to get into the iTunes store. Test upgraded a Joomla install by hand. The bits on the inside were scary.

Decided to play with drupal after reading about it the other day. Got carried away playing with drupal and implemented about half of a new site. The remaining effort is video junk I already know. Goodbye WordPress.

Been putting off upgrading to mysql 5 for a long time. Was convinced I’d found a bug in the code where it wouldn’t modify the database under certain circumstances. Finally sat down and went through things to discover some idiot had been sending the updates to the wrong database. Once I went through and corrected his terrible mistake, everything became hunky dory.

Onwards to the next project: putting off upgrading to mysql 6.

A new year, decided to redo the main site. Unified my CSS. Cleaned up all my old php scripts, making them database-agnostic. This allowed me to dump five or so year’s worth of detritus from my SQL tables, so now they’re all shiny again.

Switched all the Sorenson 3 stuff over to H.264. I kinda liked Sorenson, it was compatible back to 2001: forever in computer terms. But it’s an evolutionary dead end, H.264 and its variants are the future. Now the main page works with an iPhone as well as the iPod Touch.

In theory, the latest flash betas will play 264 if it’s piped in correctly, which means that Linux and Windows boxes without Quicktime will be able to watch things. But getting that working is a project for another day.

Cleaned up my css, squashing an IE parsing bug that’s been driving me nuts for years. Good times.
