Used Adobe Encore (DSP doesn’t support it) to create a blu-ray version of the project and then burned it to a dual layer dvd-r disk. Went over to Best Buy, popped it into their display machine, and it worked first try. When that happens I usually assume fate is toying with me, but I’ll take it.

Amongst the other things that happened today, this is very interesting.

The D word. Rhymes with gub. Saying it might jinx it, though. Gonna take a day or two off and see if there’s anything else I wanna muck with.

In the meantime, started on the subtitles. Subtitles suck.

Got WordPress working with an iPod touch. Yet another thing that I never had before but didn’t know how desperately I needed.

In other news, made a first version of the DVD.

Fourth version of the audio. Some levels munging yet to go, but it’s about as far as I can push it.

After that a few shots need to be tweaked. But slowly getting there.

Kicked out a third version of the audio. Gonna have to do at least a fourth, but slowly getting closer.

Got a better version of the audio together. Sent back the AlphaTrack, it didn’t really integrate with Soundtrack Pro all that well. Built the ZFS array, so far so good.

Spent the last week getting up to speed on the audio. Got everything roughly hammered into a 5.1 mix. Needs a lot more work.

Ordered some new hardware, a little TR4U enclosure with hopes of building a ZFS array. After that an AlphaTrack, hopefully it will make managing audio levels easy.

Final cut, #3. Know I missed a shot or two. And I hesitate to use the phrase done. But getting close.

Getting closer, pushed a second final cut out.

Bought an Apple TV, been playing around with it. I wish getting content into the h.264 variant it likes was a bit easier, but once there it’s a pretty slick piece of kit.

Final cut, #1. A bunch of little things I’ll probably tweak yet. The audio needs to be cleaned up, mixed. But the bulk of the work seems complete.

A long time to get here. A bunch yet to go. A single step at a time.
