11/5 @ 1 AM

Just finished a *really* rough cut of the JPS. It’s 4 minutes long.

Where’d the six pages of script go?

My guess is gnomes.

10/11 @10:10PM

Here’s the final cut. Before you ask, final cut means the editing is done. It does NOT mean that the sound is finalized.

Now, I really do need to get this paper done.

9/2

I took all my updates to the SBP over the summer and called it polish cut #2.

Current project: SBP Polish Cut #3.

8/31

I’m dumped the J&P footage to disk. Now, I’m gonna convert it to a smaller file so I can edit it on my powerbook. It’s gonna be supercool.

Other than that, managed to survive my first week back to school.

Perhaps I’ll pull some stills out of the footage so you guys can see J&P in action. If you wanna see that, you know my e-mail address.

My family’s off to the lake for the weekend. I’ll be back Wednesday or so.

I think I’m gonna start draft two.

5/6 @ 1:20PM

I know I said that I’d have some stuff for you guys today, but I was…um…bending the truth.

Maki and I got the Pokemon Project scripted. We’ve recorded the dialogue, and are currently working on the animation. At 15 seconds/frame to render, we’re gonna need approxomately 20 CPU hours of time to kick everything out. I’m in a computer lab with 10 or so macs we can steal: hopefully, we can cut that number down by a factor.

But the whole thing about having free time? Newp.

I talked with Brian Bax’s friend, Joe Eidson: he’s gonna compose music for the SBP once I get it finished. Another Jeff City boy making it in the world.

Now, to compress two days worth of work into the next 24 hours. Whee.

Here ya are, kids.

One polish edit of the SBP.

The polish edit is finished. I’m compressing it now, it’ll be up tomorrow.

There’s work yet to do, but things are pretty much in their final places.

3/3

The server was down for a few days. Sorry. Maki was encoding some Batman episodes. For now, it’ll be on my old server. (no movies for you!) (I’m not sure if the DNS junk I just pulled is going to work.)

I decided that if I’m gonna up "The Joke," I’ll compress "Pro Ball" and slide it up too. However, I was having difficulties (to use polite words) with my hard drive last night, so that’ll be on my big list-o-things to do.

In other news, I’ve only got 5GB free on my 80GB drive. Somebody needs to invent some new shite for me to use. I figure they’ll have something in the 160GB range in a few months. That’ll be shwae. (40GB of video, 13GB of mp3’s, 10 GB of ‘other stuff’, and 5GB of projects that I’m finished with.)

Projects for the day: finish writing the spring break project. Once I’ve done that, I’ll be able to plan stuff out. If I only need Brandon during the day twice, I can shoot his outdoors stuff over the weekend, and indoor stuff at night sometime during the week. The other thing I need to do is mess about with muzzle flashes. My new book has given me some neat ideas for stuff to do.

$50 for 5 DVD-R blanks. This price point’ll fall more in the future: DVD-R’s gonna be big. I don’t feel like I have enough content for a DVD yet, though, but the practice wouldn’t hurt me. We’ll see.

I’m gonna try to find some more people to work with: an editor, and some people to do visual effects work. I went to a meeting of these guys last week: they seemed pretty cool. I don’t know if I had a need for a composer yet.

Wow. A nice long update. I think I’m gonna try to write more in future updates. (Updated the projects and vfx pages.)

P.S. Mad props to Josh and his linkage over here! I keep on meaning to put up a links page. I’ll get around to it. (translation: nope.)
