Software:
- Final Cut Pro. The one and only.
- DVD Studio Pro: a powerful program. Been playing with blu-ray in Encore.
- Now that shake is dead, I’ve been using nuke for node-based compositing.
- Photoshop is, well, photoshop. I do layout/PDF work in Illustrator.
- Been doing my Color correction in Apple’s program of the same name, but it would be nice to have a controller.
- Mostly use Motion to do titles/menus, but the concept is cool: I’m a sucker for anything that involves the GPU.
- I would like to consolidate everything I’ve shot into Final Cut Server.
- I type my scripts in Final Draft. I use TextMate + subversion for my notes and outlines.
- Coda does websites in a way I like.
- A bunch of little utility programs.
Unix:
My first Unix system was a FreeBSD ftp server I built in the mid nineties. I went to RedHat at some point in the late nineties. In college I had an account on the Sun mainframe I’d use to check my mail and update my web page. I flirted with Windows 2K in the early part of the decade but once OS X came out I finally had the shell and gui together. Since then I’ve ditched tcsh for bash and mostly run ubuntu on my x86 boxes. I tell people it’s debian to maintain my street cred.
Server:
- www – a collection of scripts I’ve cobbled together over the years. CSS + PHP + MySQL for the most part.
- koonce – wordpress with a custom theme. Still slowly growing, my main workhorse.
- experimental – drupal with a custom zen theme.
- mail – SpamAssassin + SPF (+SquirrelMail on occasion).
- hardware – a linux box from ICDSoft.
