In an exciting burst of paranoia, I switched from traditional POP to SSL + cert encrypted IMAP sessions. Purpose: now I can check my mail via random internet connections. I’ve held off on switching to IMAP for some time, but now that I’ve gone over it’s yet another case of me wondering why I didn’t sooner. I also set up a VPN server, but that’s overkill.
