Got a chance to muck around with the new iMovie HD. My biggest fear, that I would need a new computer to do HDV, seems obviated. The Apple Intermediate Codec eats up a twice as much space but drops the processing requirements of the MPEG-2 stream to the level where even my lowly Powerbook can handle it. So now the question is the optics/image of the FX1, which in turn isn’t really a question compared the limitations of DV. Covet covet covet. $3300 @ B+H now.
